Anybody with ADHD take medicine for seizures!!!!

I am an Adult with ADHD combined type. Like many ADDers I got some Learnning Disability's. I can't take medice for ADD because I take seizure medicine. So I do other things to control it. I drink caffine and I dody Bady Pump (weight lifting class) and Body Flow (Yoga, Tai Chi and Pallities combined in one class)

I know a number of people who take Lamictal (and sometimes Topamax) in combination with stimulants.

Do they have a history of seizures?

They had various issues- neurological (not seizures though) and mood and hormonal
I do know that I had a long conversation w/ a neurologist who treated some patients w/ this combo... get this- not because of ADHD but because they needed such high doses of anti seizure meds that they couldn't function (too sedated), so they used some adderall. Not that they'd want to be quoted on it I guess but I gather it has been done... sorry I can't be mroe helpful.

I am actually on a low dose of seizure medicine. And controlled with a low dose. My ADHD is more of a pain in the butt. I have seen people sedated before because of seizure medicine. ?Its scarry.

I know that if you go over to the Crazy Meds site, they might be able to help you with some practical information about talking to your psychiatrist or your neurologist. Google Crazy Meds, and the link will pop up.

One of the founding members has a really severe seizure disorder, and, from what I saw while poking around, many of the members have co-morbid psych. conditions, plus seizure activity.

Please make sure you read their rules for posting very carefully, as they are not a support group, but an information network.

What is going on with your body is rough, and even though I don't really know you, I am proud and amazed that you are being so proactive about your condition with physical training. Good on you!
