Take a moment to cherish Kate Kelly today. A bright light has transformed.

I can't be sure what is appropriate or not at this time.  I hope this is suitable.  Just know one of our brightest lights has changed her light spectrum to an "ultra" one we can't see.  We may not hear her laugh any longer with our ears, but we can remember her and in our hearts and minds and she will be with us.  That's how Kate wanted to be remembered:  alive in our hearts.

If you trace the roots of adult ADHD awareness, there you will find the first book ever written focusing on adult ADHD and it was co-authored by Kate Kelly and Peggy Ramundo in 1993 two years before "Driven to Distraction".

Many people don't realize how early their pioneering work was and how it's influence continues through today.  But all you have to do is mention "You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid, or Crazy", and heads begin to nod in recognition.

Peace, Kate

So very, very well said, Glen. Truly, Kate's one of the best ever to grace us. She will be missed and no words can truly convey how much she has meant to us. The ADHD community has been so lucky to have her.

God bless.

I didn't know Kate, but I know that she had been sick for a while. I don't know what else to say other than she will be greatly missed  :(  RIP, Kate. May you enlighten the afterlife the way you enlightened our lives.

My heart is broken.

Kate changed my life.

When I was diagnosed with adult ADD 13 years ago at the age of 40, it was like being hit with a sledgehammer. The first thing I did after being diagnosed was to run to the bookstore to find out what this thing was, and the book I picked up was "You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy" (since that was what I had heard all my life up to that point.) That book saved my sanity, lifted the burden of shame I had been carrying around my whole life, and gave me hope for the future.

As an impulsive ADD, I found Kate on the internet, and also found out that she did ADD phone coaching. When I called her, she could not have been more friendly, kind, and encouraging. That first year, she gave me so much support, insight and love that I was able to learn to love and appreciate myself and the gift of ADD that I had been given. Thanks to Kate, I was able to take what had been a burden to me and transform it into a priceless asset. Thanks to Kate, I went from having no marketable job skills to reinventing myself as a computer expert, audio technician - and political author. My ADD made it possible to teach myself in a way I never could learn in a traditional school system.

Over the years we became friends, and we shared our love of music and of spirituality. I had always hoped to be able to meet her in person, but I feel so blessed to have known her at all. The happy life I live today is because of Kate.

Thank you, Kate. I love you.
