Anything & Everything ADHD

Hi everyone,

I just started on Pristiq (50 mg) and Vyvanse (30mg) about a month ago. I'm due to go back to the Dr to check in and tell him how things are going. I need an increase on the Vyvanse but have been experiencing anxiety while these meds. I am not sure which one is causing it. The anxiety is managable but I was wondering if anyone is taking Pristiq and/or Pristiq and Vyvanse.

Thanks,
Susan

Hi! I switched to Vyvanse from Daytrana (the patch). Vyvanse did not work at all for me. I am about to start from scratch with the short acting Ritalin again. For depression I have been taking Prozac for almost a decade and my doctor is suggesting I start Pristiq instead. While on Vyvanse my depression has gotten out of control...and mood swings....TERRIBLE. I am going to stay on Prozac and Ritalin for a couple of weeks to see how I fweel, then if I am still having the increased depression and mood swings I will try the Pristiq. Apparently Pristiq might help with some peri-menopausal symptoms. I am wondering how things have gone for you.

I was wondering what dosage you were on of the Vyvanse where you got so depressed and also I found that coming off of the highly stimulating drugs amphetamines, it is a bit of a withdrawal that happened with me too, depression, mood swings, but now, I sleep better, I am calmer and focused. It is a relief to be detoxed. I maybe just different Dorothy, Prozac took my sex drive away and made me feel shut down. and ritalin was too much of a stimulant with moody withdrawal and slow takeoff. I don't have that problem with the combo 20mg Lexapro, 300mgWellbutrin and 30mg Vyvanse.
Pristique gave me odd side effects and anxiety in public situations where I had none previously was a big one. I am peri-menapausal also so the promotion of it being good for those symptoms was appealing to me. I kept taking it for almost 4weeks. When I realized I didn't trust myself to speak when asked at a public event (so not me) I knew I had enough of a trial time. It made me want to sleep and effected my memory. I had trouble remembering the year, and other basic info. I could feel myself waking up as I came off of it. I wish you a better experience. Please let me know how you are doing.

Hi I have been on a few different drugs for ADD along with different anti-depressants. I did not like prestique at all. It definitely made me feel awful. It was supposed to be the better working replacement for Effexor but it made me feel so out of sorts and depressed. I was on focalin which works for my son but was a little too intense for me. I was switched off Pristique to Lexipro while taking Vyvanse and feel relieved NOT to have the intensity of focalin and prestique. My Vyvanse dosage was just moved up to 30 from 20mgs. My psychiatrist is a genious with meds. He said 20mgs is for a 50lb person and probably wouldnt last into the afternoon. . Vyvanse is the smooth acting ADD drug when at the right dose will last 12-14 hours, Lexipro 20mg for anxiety and also wellbutrin is helpful as a motivator and mood lifter which after the time I have had, I am ready to be lifted.! lol I know this is going to be the right adjustments. It is important to have someone you trust to observe your behavior. We can't see the forest thru the trees. I was on focalin for way too long before I came to the conclusion I was thinking deeply but not able to get up and out to do things more and more. I was withdrawing from social activities completely. Now, I am getting back to functioning at my best. Good luck to you. Maybe you could Explore wellbutrin and lexipro as possible options for you with your doctor.
