Thanks for the tip Kay! I didn't know it was out! Guess I'll be hitting the book store... I have found, out of all the experts out there, that Dr. Hallowell is really the most down to earth - and I love that he always gives all the options, without pushing one or the other. Let us know what you think of the book!
Kay - I did not know about this book & am looking forward to your comments after reading it.
I am a ADHD mom with three (maybe four - too young to tell) ADHD kids!

I'm about 1/2 way through the book now. I wrote a post for my blog at ADDitudeMag.com about it--don't want to repeat all that here--re: my first reaction to the title. I was put off by the "superparenting" expectation at first, but I'm over it!
The book is super-readable; a lot like just listening to someone talk.
I enjoyed a section about what it feels like to have ADHD. I've wanted to understand things from my daughter's perspective better. I want to make sure my husband reads at least that section.
I'm embarrased to admit that I haven't read either of Bryan's books yet. I'd probably learn a lot about how it feels to be the person with ADHD from Bryan.
When I have time to read, I usually want to escape, not to immerse myself further in ADHD, which is weird, because I work at a library, I'm a book reviewer, and I'm so into finding books to learn all I can about any new topic of interest. Gotta be selfish sometimes, I guess! (Right?)
I haven't read Bryan's books either. But If I can manage to get my hands on them I will!
I just bought Hallowell's "Driven to Distraction" at Half Price Books. It was recommended to me years ago but I was too cheap to buy it full price and the waiting list for it at the library never ends. I can't keep up with ADDer World and now I've got all these books to read besides!!
Kay,
I totally understand how you feel. I too would love to have enough hours in the day to read and learn more about how to support my beloved ADDers, but when push comes to shove I need some me time and reading is one of my stress reducers. Does anyone know if there is an ADD book out there that I could go to a glossary and look up something and find the page number for my answer for dealing with it? Sort of what do I do when my son is hyperfocusing on Wii and stressing because he is not able to raise his score above the "Pro" line and is now wigging out......turn to page 124 for ways to support him in learning coping skills!

I just ordered the Superparenting book! I'm so excited - I absolutely love Dr. Hallowell's books. He is one of the few authors that I have read that truly presents all sides of the ADHD picture. I can't wait to read it - and I'll be sure to let you all know what I think!
