Anything & Everything ADHD

Has anyone read it? What did you think? I bought it Friday night and just started it.

Just wanted to update you... I finished Dr. Hallowell's book last night. I found it to be excellent, as all of his books are. It focuses on the strength-based model, and he gives you a very clear approach to parenting your ADDer, with solid, concrete solutions. There's a large part of the book devoted to the Kolbe profile, which is a profiling tool used to determine your strengths/weaknesses. I did check out the website, but I was a little disappointed to find the tool to be a little pricey for my taste.

What I liked best was a special section that he wrote directly to teachers. He recommends asking our children's teachers to read just that section - if they would read the whole book, that would be fantastic, but since they're often so busy, if they could just read that section, it might help them to understand much better how ADHD manifests in our children, and how they can best reach them. Most teachers are the exact opposite of kids with ADHD on the profiling scale he uses - which is why it's so difficult for teachers to adapt to the learning styles of our kids.

I highly recommend this book... I'm already passing it on to a coworker whose son has ADHD. Definitely worth the money, or worth the wait at the library!
