Super Soul 2009

Thanks for the invite, Lizard. Thee "Arteest" in me is dying to get out....I have been in a slump lately....like for 3 years...lol. I even have a dang degree in Art. Does anyone else do this? Also, I can't keep any works I have done...they all are sold, given or thrown away. This drives my boyfriend nuts. I don't know why I do this.

I was having a conversation with my head doc this morning about confidence and art and writing came into it and how a large portion of the ADHD population has a natural talent for it! I told him I am not that confident in my stuff because when I was a kid, people would use my art against me or in making a case for whatever label they wanted to give me at the time, so I used to think some of my art and writings were disturbing and thought that for so long, until the last couple years, I would not share it with anyone! I did not have any confidence in that part of me to believe it was any good or OK, I used to not express myself enough that way!

Some people still ask me what I was thinking about when I do certain art pieces or write, and that is OK now!

It is kind of funny to me that my art has more to do over all with my mood, some are trapped thoughts tied into some PTSD stuff, some are random related to mood, some are expirments, some are nothing I could put anything to as to why I did them?

I would just hope that we have come a long way as a society when we talk about art with our own kids, it is expression and maybe it helps some kids to be able to express themselves that way, if I had a choice I would encourage kids to do art and different forms of it!
