Michael Caine says that the essence of acting is concentration. Gee, guess what ADDers are worst at?

Is anyone else an ADD actor (stage, film, voice-over or telly)? How do you practice your craft when your brain wants to wander off and start the wrap party without you?

I'm an actor.

Are you John Cleese? John Cleese is a genius. I guess, if you were really John Cleese, you probably wouldn't put your picture on this site.

I like Michael Caine. I can tell he's very focused. He's not, though, what I consider, a very creative actor. I would take John Cleese over Micheal Caine any day.

When people start extolling concentration, what they really mean is the ability to focus Indiscriminately. It tends to lead one into the temptation to comprimise, and to make safe boring choices, because you're able to fix your mind on anything. Making boring choices is not an optiion for me. I'm condemned to perform with total integrity whether I have integrity or not.

I'm always focused when I act because acting is infinitly facinating. Unlike the rest of my life.

I assume you're an actor, too. Want to do a show together?

Unless I really am John Cleese trying very cleverly to prevent people from realising it by flaunting my picture in public. Or does my British spelling give it away?

John Cleese is indeed a genius.

Safe, boring choices. Not something I've been accused of lately.

Integrity is like sincerity. Once you can fake that you have it made :)

Acting is indeed infinitely fascinating. I work at the local medical school being a practice patient. It's great fun doing improv within the assigned case. All of us there are professional actors, apparently because we're in touch with our feelings so we can give the proto-doctors good feedback about how their bedside manner is.

I am indeed an actor. It might have to be a long distance show, though.

People called Romanes they go the house??

That's the problem. If I were doing straight improv then the wandering mind would be wonderful but directors tend to get cranky when one completely abandons the script.

Unless you are Will Smith or Robin Williams.

I found that the theater is one place where I can let my mind wander. (I wish I could use the italics thing on the bar above this, because I would have emphisised the word "can" in the last sentace). Theater's the only place where I feel free and connected. It's heaven.
