I am not a photographer by any means, my oldest is and takes really wild and great photos, but here is one I took one day at work of a Dahlia someone had on their desk because I wanted to use it in a drawing some day!
This is a pic I took of my sister in law at her daughters bday party. Nothing really out of the ordinary I know it originally was of her cutting cake I thought I would make a good head shot...
wow! Lizard - what a wonderful site to find....I adore photography, though very new to this - has helped me sooo much in recovery from the passing of my mother - well, IS helping me, as is all art, as I used to want to go to art school and never did! wow! I love your daughters photo...:)

Have you considered an online photography class? The New york institute of photography is very good. I did a lot of checking around including the BBB to see if this school was ligitimate. You can go at your own speed. Many of the folks on the photography sites give it a thumbs up.
Can I ask what everyone is shooting with? I'm still in the dark ages and love my nikon 80 35mm. You know, the kind where you develop the film? HA! My favorite part of photography is the dark room. It's relaxing and stress free.
I am looking at dslr's. I have a point and shoot but I've wanted a dslr. I've been researching and thankfully with the help of ritalin I've actually been reading the reviews on each camera and not skipping over the boring parts, hehe. Anyway.....I'm getting my new camera Jan. 15th. I'm just not sure which one. So I'll start posting photos when I have it.
I love looking at everyone's art!!
We have 3 canon digital camera's in our family and a canon printer that you can either use directly with the printer or 3 different size cards. One of the cameras is small, called a sureshot so I can fit it in my fire shirt pocket to take with me on assignments!
Well after weeks of reading reviews on the nikon and canon cameras I decided on the canon. My 35mm is a nikon and I like it but I think the rebel is just what I'm looking for. So here's the one I'm going to order.
I'm excited. I've waited a long time for a new camera. Always putting something else first. I finally decided that I never do anything for just me! So this is it.
Thanks , Liz. This site is getting me excited about maybe taking some more photography classes at community. If I take a special projects course I can use the dark room all I want. I enjoy 35mm over digital.
Yes. Normally very detailed things are difficult for me. I skip ahead. But for whatever reason photography, esp developing, is almost therapeutic for me.
I remember my ex husband bought me this really nice sewing machine. Twenty years ago and this machine cost him 700 dollars. It was a total waste of money. The patterns never made sense to me and I could never do the fine detail. I just wanted to get whatever it was completed. Like reading a book. Start at the beginning and five mins later read the last page. Done! Ha. I'm wacked.

P.s. I was actually happy that his new wifey got some use out of that machine.
