NerdyMommy - thanks for starting this forum. I think my last comment maybe would have been better placed under a new discussion topic? Feel free to move it if you think it's better placed there. I would if I understood how to do so. I'm pretty green to forums, etc. Thanks again!

So I have a more basic question. What is the best way to go about accomplishing goals? Goals and scheduling have always been extremely difficult for me. I've lived my life fairly spontaneously and some of my less thought out moves are catching up with me. I am 46 and a single mom - I feel pretty lucky for the most part in my life - but now I need some firm goals and to accomplish them. All the things I think of as associated with goal making (scheduling, calendar, tracking, time) all feel way too daunting and before I know it I am back on track of being spontaneous and then look at the calendar and see how much time has passed - years! I am just starting Vyvanse today (see meds group for more details here) and am hoping for some help through that as well as have a weekly coach - but we do what I do best mostly - talk. I guess what I am asking for is any of you who may have this challenge - how have you overcome it or worked with it toward a successful solution? I saw one person's link of tracking their running schedule and it was amazing to me - one to have created it but mostly to keep it current!
I know one piece that keeps me back is I feel so 'locked-in' with what I know one needs to accomplish goals. This feeling, I react to in a big way and have my entire life. Any constructive (or humorous) comments are appreciated!

NerdyMommy, based upon the Discussion topics, I suspect you have that keen, dry sense of wit Indigenous to ADHDers. Greetings to all! Happy to have Just located the site but will have to return later (looking for a job). I suspect that would qualify as both a short- and long-term goal...
