I am so tired. I love what I do at work but the constant demands of my manager in terms of what she sees as inappropriate communication is waring me very thin. The problem occurs when I participate in international phone calls for the team I am on. I find this so difficult as I believe there is a lot of disfunction within the members. Many times I am asked for my status or information by multiple people repeatedly. In many cases I think that they have finished their question but they continue to phrase the question in many ways. I do not recognize this and interrupt or talk over them. It is only my manager that has a problem with this. While I am not the only one to make this mistake, I am told it is more the rule with me than the exception. At the same time, my manager wants me involved for my brain. That wonderful ADD brain that can solve so many problems. I finally told my manager that I am not qualified to do the job I have. Now, I do not know what will happen.

I love her like a mom and I don't know what I would do if I lost her. ok yesterday morning I walked into her room she was so pale and week she was nausiated . she is on all kinds of antibiotics and a feeding tube. I'm trying to be strong . But, when you deal with depression it so damn hard. I haven't been sleeping. Just wondered if anyone can say some uplifting things to me . I sure could use it right now.

Hello Mssphoto !

Thank you for taking time to answer me ! It makes me feel better ! I'd like doing what you do : it seems so interesting ! (Owning my companyin writing!!!) In fact, I'm thinking about it for a while... I'm just afraid to have another failure... So, I think to back to school for stuying something else but I always read and write. I like words so much !!! So, I don't know what I could do...

About the sites you mentioned in your post, who are looking for writers, I'd be interested but... I'm a French Canadian and I have difficulties to write well enough in English to work in this language and I think these sites are looking for English writers... isn't it ?

You could even give me the address... Maybe one day I will write better in English....

I never was fired from a job but, I always felt that when the job was not a challenge anymore I got bored. I still do feel like when there is no longer a challenge I get bored but, really am interested in what I do.
I was never a writer and never thought about writing and know that is what I do for a living. I own my own company and write blog posts, articles, market, etc for various ciients. Never thought this was something I would ever do.
If you are a writer it might not be that you cannot focus, the subject matter might not be your niche. I do not think that a carrer advisor is what you need, many times they just tell you want you want to do.
If interested I can give you a few sites that post jobs looking for writers and even though some pay ittle it might be a way to find what you really enjoy writing about.
If you are a copy writer you are in big demand!!!!!
Let me know if I can be of any help..work does not always mean you have to leave your house!!!
Hope I was of some help.

Oh ! I'd have a lot of things to say about it ! I worked in many fields and I never stay more than 8 months to the same job ! Sometimes, I hated my job and I quited, other times, I loved my job but I was distracted, was lacking of focus, making too much mistakes, was disorganized and then, was fired...

My interests are in information, communication, writing and I recently met un careers adviser and she told me I was in the right field (I studied in French language and writing at the university), after making me past a test...

Unfortunately, I already worked in my field and even that, I was fired (I was a copy writer for the government). So, I am a bit discouraged... I said it to the career adviser and she told me that I needed to have a more creative job with more liberty...

I m thinnking to back to school in creative writing before teaching it to adults... what I would love doing very much !!! I am also thinking to run my own business in editing...

I just hope not having a failure again, what I would find very hard for my self-esteem...

Sally - Thanks for this great bit of information. That is one for us!!! I am originally from that area and the EEOC is great up in the North as far what is considered discrimination and offers great help for employees.

Even though the EEOC is a federal organization the rules and how protected you are depend on your state. This is very important...

Everyone needs to look up the EEOC branch for where they live to see how they are protected. Every branch is different..I live in TN and you do not have many options available to bring a company up on charges for.

The EEOC is a great organization and can be of great help. They are very understaffed so be ready for much waiting..

Thanks again and I hope we begin to see alot more of these cases come about...

Very interesting and appreciated. It is uplifting to know it can and will work out in the end. I do know it will, but day-to-day it's easy to get caught up in the motion, next thing you know you're way behind hehe. Thanks again for taking the time to reply, and share your story. All the best and keep in touch!
