I have been accused of being a voracious reader at times. I think I've read most of the books on ADHD and lots in the psychology area too. For those that have reading challenges, some of these may be available as audio books.

My favorite ADD books are:

Healing ADD: The Breakthrough Program that Allows You to See and Heal ADD by Dr. Daniel Amen

Fidget to Focus: Outwit your Boredom Sensory Strategies for living with ADD by Roland Rotz and Sarah Wright

Women with Attention Deficit Disorder: Embrace Your Differences and Transform Your Life
by Sari Solden

Journeys through ADDulthood: Discovery a New Sense of Meaning and Identity with Attention Deficit Disorder by Sari Solden

ADD-friendly Ways to Organize your Life
by Judith Kohlberg and Kathleen Nadeau

ADD in the Workplace: Choices, Changes and Challenges by Kathleen Nadeau

You, Your Relationship and Your ADD: A Workbook by Michael T. Bell

View from the Cliff: A Course in Achieving Daily Focus by Lynn Weiss

Finding Your Focus: Practical Strategies for the Everyday Challenges Facing Adults with ADD by Judith Greenbaum

Not ADD specific, but very good for everyone:

Healing through the Dark Emotions: the Wisdom of Grief, Fear and Despair by Miriam Greenspan

Healing from Trauma: A Survivor's Guide to Understanding your Symptoms and Reclaiming your Life by Jasmin Lee Cori

Finding Joy: 101 Ways to Free Your Spirit and Dance with Life by Charlotte Davis Kasl (all her books are excellent)

Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends by Bruce Fisher

A Manual for Living (a Little Book of Wisdom)
by Epictetus

Transformation Soup: Healing for the Splendidly Imperfect
by SARK

Greetings to all! Glad to have found the site (thank you Keath Low!)! Many recommendations but have to go back (xlat. stay focused on) to my job search! For all of you having problems finishing a book give this a try. (It works for me) Read like you think-randomly. Open anywhere and just begin reading. Then go to a different section. It there's something you find interesting, stick one of those colored "flags" on the page. I find it easier to retain focus and can finish a book quicker this way-better comprehension also. Hey! There I go again! Back to work looking for work!

My favorites are Rich Dad/ Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, and the Success System that Never Fails by W. Clements Stone.

A great book to get you in the right direct is "You Mean I'M Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy" by Kate Kelly and Peggy Ramundo. I am reading now and boy is it making sense of many things that I have gone through and what I am going through now. This book has really opened up my eyes. I even get a chuckle out of some of the things said. A book everyne should read.

Well I've just begun reading "A.D.D. & Romance-Finding fullfillment in love, sex & Relationships" by Jonathan Halverstadt. Apparently it's not only useful for us, but for our partners as well to read. The link has reviews as well from others. I've only read a couple chapters but the guy who wrote it was also diagnosed late in life and is a doctor so he really seems to relate.

The other book I am about to read was referred to me by my therapist and I also heard about it on the web. It's called "You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid, or Crazy?" by Kate Kelly. The reviews make it sound like a "go-to" book for the newly diagnosed. Since I am and I am trying to learn a bit more about myself I think it will be helpful. But I can update later.
