I'm about to write my first dissertation for my PhD in Financial Management. Which will have to be published when I graduate. Look forward to the group.

MontanaShepherdess, that is such an exciting opportunity for you to join a neighborhood writer's group! I understand the social anxiety about speaking in public and sharing 15 minutes of your story, but I am impressed that you stepped out of your comfort zone to accomplish this.

Keep us posted on how the neighborhood writing group is coming along and the stories that you write!

I've done 'technical' writing that is published, but in my secret life I write poems and short stories that just sit on my computer. I am interested in helping children to grow through mutual storytelling techniques and love this part of my practice. I just joined a creative writers group in my neighborhood (which happens to be rural and woodsy) and for the very first time in my life shared a 15 min. 'free write' with them. Apparently this is a common practice if you take writing classes, but I have spent most of my life in the sciences, so I missed this developmental step. It turned out better than I expected, but the social anxiety was palpable. I'm hoping that an ADDers type writer's group will be especially 'understanding'.

Writers are the train-we make our own tracks, that's why we don't need to worry if we get distracted.

Christine, I would be happy to read some of your non-fiction book and provide helpful feedback. I am an ADD mom who has three kids with ADHD so I understand what the challenges are all about. There is never a dull moment in our home!

I'll give you feedback. Coping with ADHD as well as being a wife and mother is an amazing feat. In my opinion, you deserve the woman of achievement award. I think you are very brave and I commend you for doing what I had to walk away from more than 10 years ago. Actually, with me the plot thickens and I don't have the head to get into it now, but soon.

A suggest for this group could be to get feedback on our writing. I am in the progress of trying to write a non-fiction book about coping with ADHD as a woman, wife and mother and could use the feedback on some of my writing. What do you think? Christine

Hey I just found this group! I didn't even know it was here.
But now that I'm here what should write? Hmmm
Oh inspiration fall on me!
