ADDer World Guidlines

ADDer World is a family friendly site.  Please observe the following rules & disclaimer to keep our community comfortable and supportive for all. Sorry, these rules are pretty straight forward in a direct manner simply to save from any confusion and are a slightly modified version from typical rules already in place on NING and other social networking sites.

1.  Do not post anything abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate applicable laws.  This includes references in usernames, avatars, on your profile page, and in private messages.  There is an Adults Only group that is suitable for posting more adult topics, if needed.

2.  There are a lot of different opinions regarding treatment and management of ADHD.  We strive to be open-minded and accepting of everyone here, so please help us maintain the spirit of ADDer World by refraining from personal attacks, name calling or threats.  If you disagree with someone, please do it tactfully.

3.  Please do not start topics or post with the sole intention of angering or inciting other members.  Our mission here is to support each other, not attack each other.

4.  Do not post copyrighted material unless you own the copyrights to such material or have permission.  This includes images and text.

5.  Do not use blog posts or posts in groups/forums to contact a specific member.  You can make personal contact with people either on their Profile Page, in the Comments section, or via private message. If someone asks you not to contact them you must stop.

6.  We understand that many of our members have affiliations with other websites, commercial or personal.  You are welcome to advertise your website on your personal Profile Page.  Please do not post blogs, or group/forum posts promoting your websites.  Doing so takes away from other content on the site.  You may not spam other members with your website information.  This includes sending unsolicited private messages to members.

7.  You may post links to articles and other helpful, ADHD-related information in group posts or forum posts when pertinent to the topic at hand.  Please ensure that when you post a link, it's with the intention of helping someone else, not to promote your affiliation with another website.

8.  Admins reserve the right to remove posts or any other user-uploaded content as necessary, and at their discretion.  Any violations of the above rules will result in immediate removal of the offending post or content.  Admins may also choose to ban a member from ADDer World for violating the rules or for inappropriate conduct.

9.  If anyone sees another member violating these rules, please send a PM to the 'Admin Moderator'.  Messages sent there are automatically forward to all admins.  You may also contact an individual Admin if you choose.  Please do not respond to inflammatory posts or to members violating the rules, as this only serves to make the problem worse.

10.  You understand that all information you post or write outside of private messages is public and can be read by anyone, unless you specify otherwise in the privacy settings section of your profile.  This information, if public, can also be picked up outside ADDer World through RSS Readers and by publicizing it through sites like Feedburner.  If you need to say something to someone privately, please do so in a private message..

11. If you wish to keep your name private or anonymous you can do so by changing your name in your profile settings. The founder and members of this site are not and cannot be held responsible for anything you post or what is read by anyone visiting your profile.

12. As this is a NING platform, no members or moderators have any technical controls over anyone but them self and cannot access your profile and adjust any settings for you. If you need help, a good place to find help is through the NING help center: NING HELP
