I am an adult female with ADD. I was not diagnosed until about 10 years ago. I grew up not knowing what was amiss with me but I managed to make to the best out of the worst situations and learn, and gain self-created skills to get me through. My guardians were the only supporters and encouragement I had in my childhood. They somehow understood me, and always saw my strange and different ways as a special gift I had and not a disability at all.
Hi Adrienne! I was diagnosed at a much later age, too. I was 33 years old when I was evaluated and diagnosed with ADHD. Through the years, I have learned very much about it and I have been alright with it. I agree that there are some wonderful gifts about having ADHD!
Welcome to ADDer World Adrienne. It always does my heart good when I read about someone making the best out of their situation. We only have one life to live and we might as well try to make the best out of it! Nice to meet you and thanks for joining us!
