Sharing my story for the first time

First of all, I just want to mention how cool it is that any member of the site can contribute to this blog. Moving on though, although I haven't yet met most of you, my YouTube video about ADD (apparently now called ADHD with different predominances, but I can't keep up,) was posted here a few months ago. I paid a quick visit and read the incredibly kind comments you had left, but didn't join until recently. That's because, and perhaps some of you can relate, my diagnosis has always been…See More

"This is great stuff. I can totally relate to the simultaneous arrogance and inferiority complex. I had an ex girlfriend who mistakenly insisted that I was a pathological Narcissist (it's not even close to true) But I can see how she made that…"

Dr Charles Parker commented on Ashley Carey's blog post Sharing my story for the first time
"Ashley, Your consternation about what-to-call-it is shared by so many who simply disdain being locked down in to a diagnosis that derives from appearances, not brain function, as Carol so correctly documented. No one wants to be labeled, reduced to…"

Profile Information

About me & Relation to ADHD?
I have been diagnosed with ADHD since I was seven years old, but only began taking medication at the end of high school, by choice. I am currently struggling to complete an associates degree, but I hope to one day have a masters degree in one of my many intense fields of interest.

I made this video about my struggle - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rybVzoKOwWA

I am so glad to learn that its helped so many of you. It was really a blessing to find this site and the wonderful things people were saying after facing a lot of criticism and insults for uploading the video. Ive finally found my people!

I like to be goofy and entertaining, and I want to do 100 different things for a living.

Hi Ashley, if you like, please feel free to put some of your videos on ADDer World. You have some great ones that can relate very well to our discussions and the way many members feel. In August NING will be taking away the video upload capability, unless I pay an insane rate (which I won't be doing right away). I will still be able to put videos up in certain ways, but for general uploading that won't be possible anymore. Just wanted to give you a head's up because you have some great videos out there.

Have a fantastic day!

Ashley, so good to see you here! I commend your video; ADD is well described there. The way you live your life, particularly in learning, resembles mine. Please drop a line more often.
