I am part of a support group for adults with ADD called ADDAM. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 7:30-9:00pm. The 2nd Wednesday meeting is located at Wired Coffee House 3860 S. I saw a career counselor yesterday. This is something I should have done YEARS ago. She had me take the Myers Briggs, as well as the Strong Interest inventory. Turns out I'm a INFP, Introversion, Intuition, Feeling, Perceiving. My top job recommendation was a Speech Pathologist, followed by teaching. I finally feel like I have more direction now. I just never thought seriously about teaching. The only problem is I'm just not so sure about teaching for the public school system, and private school… Continue

Since I don't know if I will have a chance to visit ALL your pages. I wanted to thank all of you who responded to my posts. I appreciate all your comments. It is so encouraging to know that I am not alone in this journey.

So I had my first apppointment with a psychiatrist today. She says I don't fit into the criteria for ADD, because I can watch a tv program and understand what I'm watching and can finish a book! I just don't feel she is very informed regarding ADD. She diagnosed me with dysthemic disorder, a form of depression, and prescribed an antidepressant called Remeron. This has been a difficult couple of months. I was in an accident in late August where another car hit me in the parking lot, then this Tuesday not two months after that accident I was in another accident where I was cited for "failure to yield" School has also been really stressful.
