You must be an incredible woman raising four ADHD children. My daughter was diagnosed with ADD at the age of six. She is now eight, almost nine and she is still having issues at school. This year has been the worst. I don't think her teacher has had much experience or knowledge of what to do with ADD children. Her tolerance level is extremely low. Is there anything you have done or know to do to improve that situation?

I have two kids diagnosed with ADHD and learning disabilities. I was diagnosed with ADD after my oldest child was diagnosed 11 years ago.
I suspect that I have learning challenges that were never diagnosed. Recently, I suspect my middle child who is 13 to have learning disabilities and inattentive ADD. There is never a dull moment in our home!

Profile Information

About me & Relation to ADHD or other condition?

Diagnosed in 1978 with auditory processing and poor visual imagery for written symbols and their sequences, poor auditory memory for recalling spoken sounds in sequences. Challenged in my learning potential, problems listening, writing documents, reading, processing math formulas, memorizing, etc. I know it's a mouth full.

Raising four kids with ADHD lead me to researching doctors, purchasing books to learn all I could with hope to become a better mom for them. I’m fun, energetic and positive, actively motivated individual who is eager to connect with like minded individuals with a desire in helping others, aiding the growth of another which also helps me. I finally realized that by being of service to other people, you're giving yourself the greatest gift of all. I’m married to a wonderful man whom I love and respect and we live in Indiana. We have a dog (Shiba Inu) and her name is “Parker Joy”.

My Kids

Now about my wonderful kids since they are the reason I have strived to be who I am today. All four of them struggled with ADHD and still do. They have done very well and I’m grateful for who they are, each one so different and unique. Nicholas (22), Christina (20), Jonathan (18), Patrick (16).
