As a single parent and having four of my five children (as well as myself) having variants of the disorder in various degrees and most with co-morbid disorders , some within the autistic spectrum... it often feels like the blind leading the blind,...
Clarissa, do you ever feel like you want just ONE person who loves you and cares about you to really REALLY understand what ADHD is like and what affect it has on you as a person?
I was hoping that my husband's diagnosis would lead to understandi...
I was the first to be diagnosed with ADHD in my family, then my son and now my husband. I am positive that my mother had ADHD, but she died a few years ago so I was never able to share my revelations with her about my behavior and hers. Anyway, my...
In my family now, all four of us have some form of ADHD. My son and I are innattentive, but with awful tempers and my daughter and husband are bounce-off-the walls hyperactive and distractible. It is almost always chaos. Conversations get interrup...
Oops... Guess I should have scrolled up last night. I totally missed the whole earlier discussion where the "Hunters and Farmers" were mentioned. At least I'm in understanding company, :-)
Hi Dan! I can't believe that you have been a member here for pretty long and I never said "Hello!" I am usually pretty good about keeping up with all the new members, but I have been tied up with writing articles for a women's magazine.
How long have you had known about your ADHD? I was diagnosed about 11 years ago after my oldest son was diagnosed with ADHD. Do you take stimulant medication or any form of treatment? Has anything helped reduce your symptoms? I use a more natural alternative method for my symptoms, but I do have an appointment at the end of this month with a psychiatrist so that will be interesting.

Cowboy NO, cowgirl - maybe? More of just me is who I am! THanks for the compliments on the art and Dixie dog! So I am curious why you would never choose to have ADD? Sometimes I wish I did not have it, other times it is just there and I don't really think about it, then other times I can use it as an excuse! I guess I would not choose to change that part of me, just the parts that get in the way.
Welcome to ADDer World Dan! Seems to me you have found the benefits of ADHD, please feel free to share your experiences with us... the blog is a good tool here and everyone can read it. Enjoy!
