I do not have a lot of time this morning to expand my post, but have to say in defense of Dana that she communicated rightly to me in her post that Jesus is the only true answer to our needs....that no man (or woman) can truly answer…
This is a group for all of those who want to discuss how their faith or fellow participants in faith respond. It may be a chance to present prayers requests or get ideas on how to advocate for adhd amongst various faith groups, or struggles.

- yes, I agree that is cool that you all are taking on ADHD as a family, it is the only way to deal with things. I use a lot of aircraft in my line of work, don't navigate them though, just use them for fighting fires and transporting resources.

It's really too bad that they did away with the flightline on Sembach. Actually, the Army is taking over Sembach sometime this year.
I started playing pool in the Vogelweh Rec Center, back when they had 1 big room with 6 9 footers! The pool hall I spent most of my time in was called the Lucky 9, which opened up after your time over here. I went to school KAHS since my father was stationed on Kapaun.
It's always cool to talk to someone who knows the area! If you ever fly back into Ramstein, send me word and we will meet for coffee!

DANA said… - I wanted to mention to you that an excellent book for your wife to read so she can understand some female issues with ADHD is a book called Women With Attention Deficit Disorder by Sari Solden. This book was the one that I read after my son was initially diagnosed with ADHD. It goes into special area's for women pertaining to being a parent, coping with disorganization and strategies to help manage ADHD even during PMS, menopause and hormonal challenges.
There are so many terrific resources for parents of children with ADHD as well as resources for adults with ADHD. As a mother of three kids with ADD/ADHD, I can feel overwhelmed at times, but it is my faith in Jesus that has been my anchor during dark storms in life. My favorite scripture is Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
If you or your wife have any concerns regarding children and ADHD, check out the parent group because it is full of helpful information regarding education, IEP's, medication, counseling and much more.

By the way, my husband and I used to live in Las Vegas, NV for four years. We relocated to our hometown in Pittsburgh, PA after we started having children. All three of our children have been diagnosed with either ADD or ADHD. After my oldest child was diagnosed with ADHD, I was suspecting that I have ADHD. Eventually, I was evaluated and diagnosed, too. Our family definitely never has a dull moment!

I imagine you flew in and out of Ramstein AFB while in the military. I worked on base for quite a number of years, but, I know you already figured that out while reading the book :)

- About me & Relation to ADHD or other condition?
- I am a professional pilotl, who has flown for over 37 years in various and sundry aircraft. I flew fighters and other jets (F-4, T37, T38, OV10) in the USAF, then a myriad of other planes since retiring from the USAF (Sabreliner, Conquest, F-28, DC-10, B757, B737). Flying is a great enjoyment and vocation for me, but my relationship with Jesus Christ is my passion.
My wife and son are ADHD, and recently diagonosed in the last year. As we learn more about the way we interact, we see a need to learn more about how to relate. I do not believe that I am ADHD, but feel that this forum and others may help us all to cope better with this.
