non-stimulant meds are less effective. I was on concerta for a year and it is much more effective than the Strattera that I am taking right now.
What are the side affects of the non-stimulants onces your body is adjusted?
I was on Strattera for about 9 mos, then switched to Vyvanse. Been on Vyvanse for only a couple of mos, so I can't tell the difference yet between the two in regards to the inattentiveness, but I gotta say I LOVE the appetite suppressant side effe...

- Hey Devin! How are you doing? What is new with you? Tomorrow I have an appointment with my fibromyalgia doctor about the Cymbalta that is not working right. I decided to start weaning myself slowly off of Cymbalta so I began taking a lower dose since I have another bottle of 20 mg tablets. I look forward to getting finished with this medication and starting a new one!
I hope your 4th of July weekend was a fun one!

- Glad to see you back on ADDer World, Devin! I pray that your recovery and healing go smoothly with your knee. Have you begun physical therapy, yet? Typically, the ortho docs like to get their patients up and moving quickly so they can begin PT. My mom has recently had surgery for her right rotator cuff and she began PT the day after surgery. She is still very sore, but working hard to regain strength in her arm and shoulder.
As for me, I completed a 6 week fibromyalgia program that included PT, occupational therapy and some interesting psychology classes to help reduce stress. I have been trying to continue walking, stretching and trying to stay active. My Cymbalta does not seem like it is working as well and I have had one appointment to try to talk to the psychiatrist about it. This week, I go back to see him. I would like to try Adderall since I never had the chance to try it before, but I have no idea if the psychiatrist will agree.
My kids are all out of school for the summer. It is good in many ways, except that my daughter's think that I am their full-time activities directer. LOL! My son just turned 18 years old so all of a sudden he thinks that he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants and however he wants. It is challenging for me and I worry about him! The funny thing is that when I was 18 years old, I was the exact same way.
How is the online schooling going? Are there actually real teachers to chat with over the computer if you have questions? How often do you have tests?
Good luck with the new doctor, I am glad to hear that you are feeling better and I sure hope that this new doctor can put all the missing pieces of the puzzle together. Just remember to take one day at a time and hang on to your faith.
