I just began taking vyvanse last month. It is smoother but it doesn't last all day. If I take one in the morning it usually wears off by early afternoon, and if I take another at that point I'm awake until 3am. It feels much different than adderall…
Greg, welcome! I appreciated your sharing your personal experience with Strattera. One of the up sides supposedly to this medication, from what I understand, is that it isn't a stimulant like the other meds are. I've only been on it a few weeks, so I don't know if it's really helping your not.
I'm sorry to hear about your addiction to the meds. I know as a parent of 2 daughters with ADHD, that was a concern. I've also heard stories of moms who also get addicted to the meds, because they feel like they're able to accomplish more.
I hope that you're able to find either a medication that is helpful and safe for you, or that you're able to find strategies to help you as well.
Hi Greg, welcome! You have touched on something that I have not read within this group yet...addicted to the meds. Something else I did not realize, inattentive ADHD. I thought that was ADD only. Great teacher already. We look forward to your posts.
Hi Greg! You found a great place to just be yourself! All of us here have many similar challenges with ADD/HD and this is a safe place to discuss are concerns. I had negative responses to stimulant medication and I had to discontinue them. I have gone a more natural direction by taking wellness products and vitamins.
Feel free to check out all the groups on this site. There is something for everyone! Take care!
Hi Greg, welcome to ADDer World! Sorry to hear about the medication issue - due to a bad reaction to a medication, I am unable to take any stimulant medications, therefore I have needed to find ways to cope without medication. You might find useful articles on my personal blog.
You will find some good information here on how many of us cope with ADHD in our daily lives.
