For any ADDers who see a counselor or therapist (or have, in the past). Does your counselor or therapist understand your ADD and how it impacts your life?

I will say that my son has many OCD behaviors that are not socially acceptable. This sets him apart socially as well. He doesn't have good eye contact or personal space boundaries. It can all be an issue and will be especially as he gets older…

70 degrees is a heat wave... all things considered!!!
A "few" years ago when I was in college (Northern Michigan University) ON LAKE SUPERIOR... my mom went to visit my sister, who was living in Florida at the time... my mom was complaining that it was "only 70" in Florida... then she went home and the weather report informed her that where I was the temp was 70 BELOW ZERO!!! We still laugh about that...

- I agree about having a place to share and connect with people. Although I am not a parent I did (UNKNOWLINGLY) struggle with ADD my whole life... I feel like my journey is just beginning but I am glad to have a name for what has been "wrong" with me and now I am learning what I can do about it!
I have had difficulty holding a job throught my career and in these times it is probably not a surprise that I am currently unemployed. My only regret about not know about my ADD earlier is that I may have been able to keep some of the jobs that I now know were lost because of my ADD.
How is the job market in CO? I am looking at the possibility of coming out there to be closer to my parents and... to make a fresh start!

- I am soooo glad that I fould this place! Although my "discovery" (of ADD) is recent my "struggle" has been life-long. It is great to have a place where people with simmilar struggles understand.
I found out about this site from a "virtual" seminar that I participated in last September. I have gotten lots of ideas and resources from that conference... if you are interested... I will share the contact info with you.
I have made lots of friends here who offer support, encouragement, advice and HUGS!!! Most important HUGS!
My parents just moved to Highlands Ranch, Co last summer. They were here for the holiday... traveling back now... (somewhere in Indiana tonight... )
