Profile Information

About me & Relation to ADHD?
Highly likely suffered from ADD (yup, without physical hyperactivity) since childhood and never diagnosed as the concept is alien in my country even in 2012.
I have a pretty high IQ (in 150s somewhere) and a very good recall, i passed exams if i read my books/notes just once and still i only manged to get average grades throughout (except in conceptual stuff) due to inability to study consistently. Luckily i chose a field that is based mostly on concepts and ideas and I managed to get my masters
Share something interesting about yourself and life with ADHD.
Creativity i guess, I get about 3 or 4 new ideas for research papers when i review just one :)
and the on/off ability to focus very sharply without distraction for a short time (and mostly under a very high deadline pressure)
I speak around 6 languages fluently and can understand a couple of others but thats kinda common in my culture so..
yeah, i learn stuff super fast, and get bored equally fast. I learnt to draw, sculpture, program, swim, and other numerous activities but i burnout fast and never stick to anything for long, gets boring..

Saif.

Sometimes we have a cocktail of conditions that merge into one another. And when we read up about it, we make the symptoms fit that particular condition. ADD/ADHD also fit as  some of the symptoms of Dyslexia, & Aspergers,  as well. You go to a specialist and you tick a lot of the boxes for a certain condition thats what you are LABELLED WITH  in the opinion of that specialist.

Its just working through the maze. With a coping strategy which has a bit of some thing and the best of nothing, because no one will be able to pin point a particular remedy or strategy that works in all instances.
