About me & Relation to ADHD or other condition?
I was looking for a reason that my marriage fell apart and had heard about "Driven to Distraction". I was convinced that my ex-husband was ADD but saw myself in this book as well. I always had very classic ADD symptoms as a female and now understand why my life is not as predictable as most of my peers.

Hi Sharon,
Wow, a major player! My head is swelling as we speak!
I'm not sure of your question, though. Where do you want to go?

Hello & Welcome Sharon! After my son was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, I was suspecting that I had ADHD. I read a terrific book called Woman and Attention Deficit Disorder by Sari Solden. While I was reading the book, it was as if I was reading all about myself!

Eventually, when I was in my 30's, I was evaluated and diagnosed with ADHD. Many years later, both of my daughter's have been diagnosed with either ADD or ADHD. So now my household has a mom with ADHD (me) and 3 kids with ADD/ADHD. As you can only imagine, there is NEVER a dull moment in our home!!!

Hey Sharon,
Good to meet you, & yes, we're neighbors... So, are you just beginning to think you are ADD, or have you been officially diagnosed, and being "treated", or should I say, "seen"?
I self-diagnosed myself while watching a 60 Minutes report on adult ADD, and seeing a father of an ADD kid, realizing that he was just like that as a kid, and still had the signs in his own life.

Well, I went "that's me"! I've since been seeing a few psychiatrists, not simultaneously, at Kaiser, & diagnosed, for about 10 or so years now. It really hasn't made a great impact in my life, beyond at least knowing better what & why I behave, & think as I do, and the Adderall I take does help prevent my brain from slipping into a fog... Hasn't necessarily done much for improving timeliness & getting things done....
