It baffles me how much stress and energy we put into christmas cards when they ultimately end up in a box in the closet. I give everyone their cards at once (yes multiple cards Christmas, Birthday, Mom's day, Anniversary, Dad's day, etc. I buy them…

Steve

I apologize for not keeping in touch but something crashed on my computer and the mouse is missing.

I hope you are all doing well.
I hope things will be less hectic for me soon and hopefully I will do a better job keeping in touch.
I guess it will depend on how long it will take for that darn cat to pass the mouse.

Belated Christmas Enclosure To My Friends

This is a letter that I am enclosing into the remaining Christmas/Holiday cards, which I do hope to finally get out by the end of the weekend. Well we will see about that.

Two Days After Christmas.

Ok, I know I am late again as usual. So why can’t I get my cards out on time like the rest of you?

Some of you already know the answer, others probably suspect, but most of you may have no clue.

So here’s the answer: ADD.

Yes, ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder,

A Day in the Life of an ADDer Feller

Well today as I was adding some comments to my "Still Alive and Kicking" blog I got to a point in realizing that I really should be turning the comments into a separate blog so here we go.

I do have to mention that in coming up with the title of this blog, I thought that an ADDer Feller was actually quite catchy and creative, however, where math and science are easy for me, I am not the best with words or spelling.

Thank God for Spell-Check and Google. So since I was not sure if feller… Continue

Still Alive and Kicking.

Well my friends, I am back for the moment and really just wanted to say Hi and for you to all know that I have not forgotten you. I think of you always and I have just been going crazy with all of life's demands. This time of year is always crazy for me. I wish I could look at the holidays as a great time like I did when I was a child however for me it is a time of increased stress and commitments. I am hoping to finally get my Christmas/Holiday cards sent out today. Every year I tell myself tha… Continue

Hello, my friendly ADDer Feller! Just dropping by to see how you are doing, to encourage you to begin your Christmas cards NOW and to let you know that I am thinking of you.

Did you see in the blog area on here that Bryan posted your hysterical post from last December called "A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ADDER FELLER?" It is located on the right top side of your computer screen as a FEATURE blog. (I mentioned to Bryan that this blog of yours was my ABSOLUTE favorite and I wanted him to share it for all the new members to read!)

As I was re-reading your Christmas card blog (for at least the 20TH time!), I decided to write a comment. However, during the process of writing my new comment, I experienced my very own "ADDer MOMENT" in which I was just as distracted as you were!

To make a long story short (although I highly doubt that I know how to make a long story short!), I ended up leaving a comment for you about my own day in the life of an ADDer Gal. Feel free to check it out when you have the time.

As for sending Christmas cards, my suggestion for you & all ADDer's is to either, SHORTEN YOUR LIST, BEGIN RIGHT NOW, CONSIDER SENDING ECARDS, like on AmericanGreetings.com or SIMPLY DO NOT SEND ANY CHRISTMAS CARDS AT ALL!

Steve, try not to beat yourself up over not getting Christmas cards finished and sent out on time. Instead, accept that this is a tedious and challenging task for most ADDer's. Consider alternative idea's to REDUCE the stress, time, work, energy, concentration and expense of sending out traditional Christmas cards.

Make a logical plan this year, leave a "post it note" taped to your bathroom mirror for you to remember your new plan, make it simple, keep it realistic and then get to work. Once you start your alternative plan, do NOT answer the telephone and actively work on completing your task within a specific time.

Most importantly, allow yourself to take little breaks for getting your coffee, stretching, eating or whatever, but then after 10-15 minutes, attempt to get right back to work for another 30 minutes to accomplish your goals.

As an ADDer, we may need to allow ourselves more time, more attention to details and new alternative options, but once we try to do things a little differently, which is MUCH more workable for us, we can accomplish whatever we set out to do!

Hey Steve,

It's good to hear from you! A long while back I was adjusting the questions asked when people join. I didn't realize that when I deleted a question it also deleted all the answers through-out the network. So sorry about that, it is my fault, but wasn't intentional... Good to hear from you and hope to see you around more often :-))

Good hearing from you, Steve! You sound very busy! That must come in handy being able to fix things in your home? Nothing wrong with being a jack of all trades!!!

My kids seem to be getting sick of one another and I think that it is time for school to begin. I look forward to the kids going back to school! My 14 year old will be doing cyber school at home, but my other two kids are off to school. My son is in his last year and I can't believe it that pretty soon he will be graduating! Wow! Where does time go???
