The first ADD med I was put on was Adderall. Not long after I started I had an appointment with my psychologist and he thought I seemed very serious that day, more than normal. But to me, trying to figure out the ADD and being willing to finally try…
Hi Susan. I love this picture of the kitty! I don't know if you're monitoring the ADD med discussion here at ADDerworld, but I posted a response today.
Peace, bythesea
LOL.... Sounds a lot like what I go through. The ordeal of me and my Zune....don't even get me started! It's taken over a year for me to finally hook it up and get mp3s on it. Even though almost every weekend I "intended" to do it.
OK, I will look forward to the name of the book! Art is cool, I am the same way about not judging art. My kids would come home from school and say I did not draw this right or color it right and I always tell them, you have to try what the teacher tells you because they are teaching general techniques, but art is the way you see things in your head and if your art comes out on paper that way - then it is good art!
My younger kid loves to draw, she likes to look at my art too, some is off limits at this point to my kids,, cause it is too graphic and they respect that. I think art and writing are important outlets for those of us that are challenged about talking in person, it can be expressive and healing at times.
Thank you so much for wanting to contribute to my book ! I dont know anybody named La Tourelle but anyway ! Its fun to learn that you have a French Canadian side !
I have a first question for you :
How did you live your young years, as an ADDer child and teenager ? What problems/difficulties did you meet ?
You can answer me to my personnal address : veroniquestmart@hotmail.com
Actually you going to college doesn't surprise me. I working on my PhD right now. I belong to a ADHD support group in Chicago and everyone there has at least a Masters with several of us working on our doctorates.
I read your profile with a lot of interest and you seem a really special person. I have ADHD too and I am writing a book about the gift of ADHD. In fact, I want to demonstrate that we can achieve our dreams or goals even if we have this... hum! trouble...
Because I am searching positive stories to put into my book, I'd like to ask you some questions about your life.
Let me know if you are interested in writing me to this address : veroniquestmart@hotmail.com
Susan, it is nice to "meet" you. Your about me is really good. So many of us feel the same way, and have been/are there right now. The honesty to look at oneself deeply is appreciated.
Diagnosed with a combined ADHD at age 42. I believe many of my family members exhibit signs of ADD/ADHD, but I'm the only one with a diagnosis. Currently, I am helping my eleven year old son with issues in school and at home that are ADHD related.
