- About me & Relation to ADHD?
- I went to a psychiatrist for abandonment and PSTD issues.My mother died suddenly in a house fire. Dr Kolin diagnosed me as having ADHD. He would have referred me to another Doctor for the adhd but he was not taking any more patients. So the two of us did our best for the 2 months we had before his stroke suddenly killed him. Yes more abandonment. I was left with 6 weeks of Ritalin experience under my belt and alone. My GP perscribes my meds and I have been under the care of a new Psychiatrist for the past 6 months for my PSTD and abandonment issues. I know more about adhd than he does and we don't focus on that as he does not belive in labels. I have been self medicating and educating with what ever i can get my hand on to better myself and to cope. The only reason I like my computer is because the internet has become my life line and source of validation for the crazy world in my cerebral space. I have always been aware that i was different.I have suffered and struggled like all of us with ADHD. Its a gift and a curse and thru it all I have maintained a wonderful sense of humor.and survival skills and ah streets smarts. I am a leader and a humanitarian.
