The medication appears to be working

Having moved from Westchester, NY to Central NJ, I needed to find a new shrink - which I did through referral of people whose opinions I trusted.

Donna, MNS (My New Shrink) didn't know the 'old me' - who finished other people's sentences for them and constantly interrupted. Instead, she's met someone who she feels has strong OCD (without the rituals} and overtones of ADHD.

The two disorders have much in common, symptomatically, I've found: high degree of disorganization, a… Continue

a Happier Halloween - and some disappointing news - and "Your Permanent Record Card"

In the past, I photographed the kids when they came to my door in costume, trick-or-treating - then posted the pictures by year, making them available to the kids, their parents and the community. In Dobbs Ferry, that was OK.

I asked a neighbor about doing the same thing here, in Summit, and was told it was a bad idea. People would object strongly. So I didn't do it.

“'One Boy's Struggle' is a real eye-opener! Bryan writes of hope and despair, and the all-too-common conflict between desperately wanting to achieve and please, yet suspecting that you’ll fail again… and soon.”
-Dr. Edward Hallowell

Book about Doubt

(Click Picture)

This is my latest book, which reveals how I overcome doubt and write anyway. Although, not about ADHD, it does talk about how I write day to day and maintain daily writing rituals and accomplish my writing goals. Also contains the story of how I wrote one of the most important ADHD memoirs "One Boy's Struggle" and much more. If you struggle with doubt, give this book a read.
