If you have not heard the news about Ning's new plans, here's a special update for you:

ADDer WOrld is run on a NING platform, so the above information does affect us!

I have received several emails about Ning's new plans, which will close many sites due to forthcoming premium site owner costs. ADDer World will NOT be closing. I do not know the new premium plans of Ning in any detail, but let's hope they are reasonable.

ADDer World premium costs are minimal (we are not running on the complete free version) at this time and they are covered by the sales of my books. Thus far sales of my books have been enough to cover; however, just cover so it will become an important factor once the new premium rates are established. YOU can help, as some of you have expressed (thank you). How:

1) Help spread the word about this site and my books. If you have found them beneficial and have a website, please post about one or both, that will help a great deal. Word of mouth is still the most powerful way to spread the word.

2) If you have read either book and enjoyed and found beneficial please post a review online.

3) If you have enjoyed my ebooks, spread them via email and your websites to your friends and lists.

4) Share your ideas on what else is possible to help support ADDer World.

None of these things are required of you, certainly not, but all of these things could help a great deal! The days of a fr-ee web will eventually come to an end, so it is no surprise that Ning has decided to charge a premium to its Ning owners. These are hard times, we all know that, we all have felt that, but the little each of us can do is very powerful together. So, if you have read this message, please consider what you can do, BUT only if you want to. Membership to ADDer World has been and always will be free!

Since ADD, ADHD is considered a " medical disorder " maybe you could get some adhd coaches or professionals to offer some time on this network and then apply for grant money through the government to run your free " medical counseling " social network.

Hi Dana,

There will be no payments from members. Membership will remain free, charging members is not an option at this time and I would like to avoid it :-) The key though is membership interest. Many have written me before I even knew about the changes which will take place behind the scenes. Members can make a major difference and assist if they want to and I think we have many members who sincerely appreciate the Rapport we have here on this social network. With that said, I don't think it is fair to charge membership fees when there are other ways available. The problem with the internet is that we have gotten so used the way it is that it has become difficult for folks to start supporting the sites they like, because everyone has many sites of interest and want to be involved in them. Time will tell, but I think we have a strong, caring group here.

Here are a few ideas, which I am only suggesting as a possible OPTION IF Ning premium fees force a large amount of members to discontinue their membership on ADDer World and IF other ADHD social websites similar to ADDer World are forced to close:

A) MERGE WITH ANOTHER ADHD SOCIAL WEBSITE TO SHARE OR LESSEN EXPENSES.

B) OFFER AT LEAST TWO OR MORE LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP TO PROVIDE DIFFERENT OPTIONS IN MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS & PREMIUM PAYMENTS. Example: Gold Membership pays the lowest premium payment, which includes only the basic membership benefits. Silver Membership pays a moderate premium payment, which includes extra membership benefits. Diamond Membership pays the highest premium, which includes extra special membership benefits + more!
