BOOK SYNOPSIS:

Pills Don’t Teach Skills is the real-life personal story of Jeff Hamilton’s winning battle against adult ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and offers an overview of how he resolved the challenges he faced with ADD and made his life work. (I do not have a personal review of this book at this time as I have not read it yet... Bryan)

-----------------

Member's names will be put into a box and randomly selected to choose the winner.

All new members will have their name automatically entered into the drawing box! Any person referring a new member will have their name put into the box twice for each single referral. Remember, it is possible to get your name into the box several times by following the below simple rules:

How to get your name in the box:

1) Write a new blog post, or, forum post. This means that each time you start a new topic (of relevance) your name will be placed into the drawing box, yes, multiple times; however, it only takes one entry to win and only one entry can win! The more your name is in the box, the better your chances are to win. (trivial posts do not count such as 'hi' or 'I want to win this book' etc)

2) If you would like to double your chances, any NEW member who uses your name as a referral will equal your name going into the box TWICE for that single referral.

This contest will run from 02 Jan 2011 until 05 Feb 2011 and the winner will be announced a couple days after completion via email! New members who join during this time will also be included into the drawing via the above rules. Only members of our ADDer World Social Network will be included in the drawing box.

If you have any questions please post them here with a reply.

If you have a blog, or, website please let your readers know about this contest! Remember, referrals count twice! Please spread the word.

Thanks,

Bryan

I think this book would certainly help me!  I live in a very rural area where help is not just around the corner.  I have to drive 1-2 hours for any kind of help.

P.S. I don't mean to belittle people who take meds and are helped by them. I recognize that this is the case for many, though my husband and I have chosen to go the 'no meds' route. My niece simply believes meds are like magic: you take them and poof! you're fixed! No work, no attitude adjustment, no personal change is necessary. Hope this helps to clarify my first post...

Oh, my, this sounds like the PERFECT book for my niece, who believes that meds are ALL! My husband and I are, respectively, ADHD, and ADD, and we are just the opposite (meds are ZERO) in our life philosophy. We have recently taken my niece into our home, as she has been greatly abused by her parents (my brother and his wife) and is just burned out of life--at the age of 18!! She's been a trophy child since birth, and went to college to escape home at the age of 15. Yes. 15. And her parents and our whole family think drugs are the answer to everything. So now Melissa (my niece) thinks drugs automatically at the first sign of a sniffle, not to mention her ADHD.
Sorry if this was TMI...you know how it goes, LOL, off and running, right?

But how glad I am to learn of this book! Since it's written by another ADHDer, one who's not my niece's "old fuddy duddy" aunt and uncle...it may be taken much better than otherwise. ;)
