Here’s One way people with ADHD are Remarkable

Most people when told to do something, and then shown exactly how to do it, go ahead and perform/copy what they were shown as close to the example given them. Yes, that seems, and probably is, the right thing to do… right...

Now, one of the things that is remarkable about folks with ADHD is that we usually do not copy or do anything exactly the way it was shown to us. What is so great and/or remarkable about that?

Simple answer:

Because nothing has ever been modified, improved and expanded upon by doing the exact same thing that has always been done. If you want to go to the next level or find another way of doing something, well, just go out and find yourself an ADDer and show him, or her, what you want done. Mix well and come back in a day or two. The odds are you have just advanced on something which many may have thought could never be modified, improved or expanded on.

The natural reaction after showing something to someone and getting a different result is disappointment and disapproval… my personal advice when dealing with an ADDer: Take a closer look, the end result might just be something better.

Ask Richard Branson, Seth Godin, Ty Pennington, Albert Einstein, and Me - Bryan Hutchinson and YOU... all with ADHD and all innovators! If you look at all the great innovators, inventors and trendsetters you are likely to find an ADDer, I think these are becoming common denominators. Think Leonardo Da Vinci, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell and Benjamin Franklin just to name a few more. I am sure you can add a few names to this list... be sure to add your own while you are at it!

Have a delightfully creative day!

Bryan

Hey, the Mona Lisa brings this funny thing up for me! Well actually a lot of things make me laugh! Anyhow, how many of you all knew that the mona Lisa has no eyebrows in the painting? AH ha, not many I bet. AND I neve knew it until last night when I played a game with the girls they got for xmas! It is a game called Fact or Crap! That was one of the questions!

And add all the ADDerFellers to that as well. :-)

So true. Now we need the rest of the world to see it.

You are doing a great job with that Bryan.

Add Ludwig van Beethoven to the list. Apparently he worked on a half dozen or so pieces simultaneously because he couldn't just write one from start to finish. He'd suddenly get an idea and then fit it into one of the pieces currently in progress..

Thinking outside the box, coloring outside the lines,, doing it differently but coming up with the stated end objective? Yeah, I hear you and what this reminds me of, is thank god I am an adult now (well sort of). When I was a kid, I used to get in so much trouble for pointing out that things could be done a different way with the same end objective! I had a math teacher tell me one time, my answer did not matter, I failed the test and questions because I did not do the steps exaclty like he did?? ARGHHHHHHH!
