ADDer World ADD ADHD Online Network Community

ADD & ADHD Online Social Network Community

Hi Everyone

I have created a new logo for ADDer World. As you've noticed it is at the top.

The specs of light within the words are the people of ADDer World and in the O of Word is a globe to represent our world.

Please let me know what you think of it.

Bests to all of you!

~Bryan

Here's a smaller version:

Okay, we went from the above logo, to the new logo, which I have now placed at the top of this post!

What 'cha think and remember, I have feelings too :) but that doesn't mean don't be honest! lol

Hi Janet, I agree with you :) Okay this is a little older, because the new logo is actually the logo we are currently using. From all the comments and suggestions, and fiddling with it, the logo that is on your page and the one that is on the very top here is the new logo. Funny that it started out as the 'fuzzy' one :-))

Okay Bryan I think you are brilliant, creative, articulate, always giving so much to bring together the ADHD community. Personally I don't know how you organize this so well. It truly is such a special gift for all of us. Thank you. So now with that said I will give my opinion for whatever it is worth it is my reaction and you did ask for us to be honest. I have a certain amount of education in design, color and advertising. I love the Original one. It has flair and curves. It is strong and yet not contained. Who did that one? It is a classic. It is a healing green on my page here. It has dignity and grace. I think the fuzzy simple makes me think "simpleton" and I am not wild about the pastel kind of colors. Kind of childlike. Lastly, I have to tell you that it reminds me of my hedges lol. That said, It is my opinion but I could love it too and smile every time i see it because it was done by Bryan and it will remind me just how much love, care and thoughtfulness he has for us. Id just love Fuzzy hedges now! This comes with only the best regards. Plus, some of us may not be ready for change. Maybe that's why I see hedges. ( it's okay if you don't get that one.). Best, janet

I used to work in a print shop designing logo's and doing layouts. The shadow behind the lettering is now considered "out of date". But, so many people like the shadowing that a few still use it. One way to make the logo "stand out" is to use 3-D lettering. Just a suggestion...I love the use of purple and green and the yellow adds a spark.

I luv this new whimsical version! I luv S curves while I'm driving, I luv waves rolling in from the ocean, I luv a musical lull before the crescendo, but I appreciate form & function too. You found a unique, gender-neutral, melodious font whose rhythm flows across your page. Clap clap clap clap clap ;) if for no one else but me haha

Okay, if you guys are following along, changed to try out something a bit more 'fancy'.

Well thank you Kvegit. You're right, it is a community logo :)

I am done for today. I spent all day trying to tone down the site color-wize... Too many members have mentioned its too easy to get distracted by some of the designs. It's hard to keep my 'ADD creativity', as Ron puts it, in check sometimes. But, I am happy with my results for today. Sometimes simple is better and looking at the site right now, the focus is directly on the 'content' exactly where it should be. For me, what I like about the new logo, is what someone wrote me today, that it isn't perfect and something about it just doesn't let go once you've seen it. Now, that is a huge complement, even if I say so myself :)

I like the changes you've made within the context of it's current design, and I would add the yellow specs to continents on the globe with concentrations at the major cities, which would also further balance the "er". Would direct sunlight-type shading for the globe be bad? What about a blue-green color for the oceans?
In a broader context, I somewhat agree with Nancy, that something bugs me I can't put a finger on.
The specs make it look fuzzy to me and a little "Un-strong," yet I have to keep reminding myself that this is not a Product Logo, but rather a friendly, helpful, community, safe-to-express-yourself-forum type of logo. In that context I'm unsure of the parameters. I'm a bit picky anyway, so of course don't take any of this personally.
What, you don't have endless hours for a font search? ;-) Lol! Tedium, yet I admit I've hyperfocused on this task before, much to the destruction of my schedule that day!
Concept-wize, a way that I like to think of this forum is a community of people with secret but mis-understood super-powers!

Ah, I think it is very creative and yet, quite simple. Creativity is not all about flare. However, Nancy, I know what you mean about the font and I had considered that, but like you mention it could take a year to find the 'perfect' font, but I really like the simplicity of this one. I am having a problem though with making the white background of the logo transparent, that's why I framed it temporarily. Kendra, I will give the border some thought on how to tone it down a notch or two :)
