WIN a free autographed copy of Is it You, Me or Adult ADD by Gina Pera

We are kicking off our new sets of contests with Gina Pera's Is it You, Me, or Adult A.D.D.

Gina Pera has generously agreed to provide a personally signed copy of her book for ADDer World! You can read more about her book on her website www.adhdrollercoaster.org and I reviewed her book on my blog here.

Member's names will be put into a box and randomly selected to choose the winner.

How to get your name in the box:

1) Write a blog post, or, forum post, also replying to any blog, or, forum post will be considered an entry into the drawing box. This means that each time you do any of the above your name will be placed into the drawing box, yes, multiple times; however, it only takes one entry to win and only one entry can win! The more your name is in the box, the better your chances are to win. However, all posts must be original in nature and not copied from your personal blog etc... . I do consider my personal blog a part of ADDer World, therefore, any member’s comments made there will be inputted for the contest too – just be sure to use the same email address that you have signed up here with.

2) If you would like to double your chances, any NEW member who uses your name as a referral will equal your name going into the box TWICE for that single referral.

This contest will run from 1 May until 17 May and the winner will be announced 18 May via email and on the front page here! New members who join during this time will also be included into the drawing via the above rules. Only members of our ADDer World Social Network will be included in the drawing box.

If you have any questions please post them here with a reply.

I have some wonderful, caring authors who have agreed to sign and giveaway one of their books here on ADDer World for you! So, if you don't win this time (and who says you won't?), you will have a chance next time too!! I am already very excited about these fantastic authors who are willing to generously donate their work for our efforts here on ADDer World!

If you have a blog, or, website please let your readers know about this contest! Remember, referrals count twice! Please spread the word and please let me know about it.

Are you excited? Remember, you can't win if you don't play!

Thanks,

Bryan

Clarissa Kelly has won this competition! WOW we had so many names in the hat and had a friend pull out the name. You've been quite active here on ADDer World Clarissa, so you had quite a few tickets in the hat - good for you! However, only 1 tickets is pulled and could be anyone's!

The next contest starts very soon! Rare hardback edition of Nancy Ratey's The Disorganized Mind!

Good Luck! We have started collecting the names and will continue through-out today!

Wouldn't it be cool if YOU win! Remember, each reply, each blog post original to ADDer World counts as an entry and every time someone uses YOUR name as a reference YOUR name goes in twice!

I have heard many great things about this book. This book would be a very useful tool for me so that people around me would understand more about how a person with ADD (me) works and why we do some of the things we do. That is the biggest problem I face right now with people that are cloest to me. Since I will also be working with people on coaching this would be a "Must Need" for being able to offer more help to people..My Business is called "FULL CIRCLE" because finding out at age 48
that I had ADD has realy changed my life to be a completely new person. I am always interested in reading books on the subject..Thanks

This contest is great, I love the idea behind posting to get entries! I also love that I could win a book about AD/HD, as my husband is getting tired of seeing Amazon boxes around the house. Ooops! :)

Good questions K! Many members have their own, personal blog which is 'off' site and they copy their blog post here to share with our members. This is okay, but, because it is copied and not original to ADDer World it doesn't count. Replies to any blog post or forum post, such as this post or any, counts! So, yes, your reply here counts. Each reply, or blog post etc will result in your name being entered into the drawing for each. I have help for that to keep track.

Thanks for asking!

Bryan,
Question: What is the difference between: "1) Write a blog post, or, ..." and "...not copied from your personal blog etc..." in the above contest requirements. If I write a blog post, is that also my personal blog? -Just a little confused there. ...and does this comment/question count? Lol!

Exactly, you can't make someone into something they are not! There are various, healthy ways to treat ADHD and learn how to reset the breaks, sort of speak. Gina's book is one of the most helpful I have ever read. It is worth checking out. It isn't the type of book you will read cover to cover, front to back, but, rather you will find certain issues at different times and refer to the book quite often.

I haven't read this book, but maybe I should. Someone who recently met me commented, "hold on for the ride". As a new single (widow), after almost 24 years of marriage, life feels bumpy. My husband was an engineer and did a pretty good job of operating the machinery in our marital amusement park. Now that he's gone, I remember now that "my brakes don't work" very good. When you have ADHD its pretty easy to be impulsive and driven. As a therapist I know it is important not to run over people and figure out how to slow down enough to enjoy the scenery. Recently I met a fine man who suggested, "maybe you need a mechanic to fix the brakes". I do agree that a companion person who understands your ADHD is very helpful. And he also understands that you don't control the ADDer by trying to make them over into something they're not.
