I was 53 . . . have an ADHD son and daughter, but didn't see it in myself until I read Understanding Girls with ADHD, then I got suspicious, and went to see their doctor. A lot of things made sense then as I looked back at my history, educational ex…
Both my kids have ADHD, and I'm in awe of your daughter's great grades, and I'm wondering why you think she needs to do better? My kids are extremely smart, but unmotivated and both have several failing grades even now as we approach the end of the…
If I ever wrote a blog (which I have never done) this would be the picture!! And I would also say "I'll write about it later." That would be the extent of my blog. Loved this!!! (both picture and your comment)
HAPPY MONDAY TO ALL OF US STEELERS FANS!!! Wow! What an exciting game that was last night with the Cardinals! For a second, I was really getting scared...... But as usual, the Steelers stepped it up a notch and made another victory! Pittsburgh is definitely celebrating today!
Hi again,
I've been out of town. I didn't remember the name till now - It's the Metro Diner and it isn't right at Stone Mountain but it isn't too far. One of my ADD problems is directions - even after going there three times I don't remember what area I was in at all. It's in a busy section of town but I think it's outside of Stone Mountain itself in another small town very close by. It will be close enough to find in the phone book. They have great food and terrific prices - mile high cakes with seven layers and Greek, Italian and many other types of ethnic food. The banana cake was enough for four of us! Check it out.
You really ought to go - there's beautiful Celtic music - fiddles, harps, bands, guitars and singing and even bagpipes, too) and food (although much of it is not wonderful...leave the haggis alone and eat the fish and chips instead...) Huge men throw phone poles and there's dancing and other sporting events, different clans have their own tents and there's crafts and books and all kinds of things. It's really a good time but it is about the same each time.
There's a diner near there that I love but I can't think of the name of it - they have this massive menu with all kinds of food on it but the owner is Greek. Do you know it? We've eaten there a couple of times each time we've been there - it's great.
Thanks for responding I'm new here and don't know too many people yet.
HI Charlotte,
I wanted to say hello - I had so much fun at Stone Mountain. For two years I've gone to the Scottish Festival there with friends who actually are Scot. I don't know if I'll get out there but I thought it would be nice to meet someone from such a lovely place. You can read my blog or visit my page and say hello if you like.
Wow! You are so fortunate to not have to do jury duty! (Big relief!) I do not like doing jury duty and it does complicate life, especially with the kids. You definitely have reason to celebrate!!!
Hello & Welcome! We have something in common..... I suspected that I had ADHD after my son was diagnosed with ADHD about 12 years ago.
It took much persistence in finding the right professional who knew about adults with ADHD, but once I found an expert, I was evaluated and correctly diagnosed. Sense then, my two daughters have been diagnosed with ADHD, too. The middle child, who is 13 years old, was diagnosed with "inattentive" ADD, but the rest of us have the hyperactive type with the inattention. There is never a dull moment in our home!!!
